Synthetic quartz glass
The synthetic quartz glass, named ZS, formerly referred as JGS1, is generally manufactured by the chemical vaporous deposition method (CVD) to hydrolysis and melt the gaseous high-purity silicon tetrachloride in a hydrogen-oxygen flame. It shows high transmittance from UV to near infrared, especially at 200 nm with the transmittance up to 90%. There is no fluorescence, no bubbles, no stripes in the product and the stress can reach 2 nm/cm, which are irreplaceable by ordinary optical materials. With the OH containing around 1000 ppm, it leads to strong absorption in the infrared spectroscopy (especially at 2730 nm).
